Edward first became involved with Cocker Spaniels in 1997.A nieghbour
of ours, with a very nice shooting bitch, whom Edward had trained, wished
to breed her, coming to Edward for advice on a suitable stud dog. He duly
selected a sound red coloured dog and the bitch produced a lovely litter.
We had four of these puppies, running them on,to see what could be achieved
with them. One of those four is Miss Alexandrovna.'Flex' as she is known
at home,is one of the sweetest natured and willing little bitches ,one
could wish to own. She has currently come 2nd in seven Open Trials and
never been 'out of the frame'.
On from her subsequent litter to Racketeer,an increase in cockers about
the kennels ,became apparent! Sporting Scene then asked if Edward would
be prepared to make a further run of Video's,exclusively on Cockers,to
join the already successful Springer and Retrievers series.
Here is where young Wallace entered the scene, arriving from Caithness
and standing four square in the yard.with an enquiring "Well whats
next?" expression on his face.He became the feature puppy of eight
weeks,on the first film and has continued to perform for the public at
Crufts and numerous Country Sports Fairs etc.
Flex and her offspring ,Baron,Racquettes and Jerry, along with various
clients dogs ,in for training ,during the filming period, all took part, showing
the many hiccups on the way,as well as the
polished finished performer in the field.Edward repeatedly describes Cocker
Spaniels as all"individual little people",rather than dogs!
They need careful handling and are a complete delight, with never a dull
moment.

Sealpin Rolex ("Roly")

Roly is a son of F.T.CH. Miss Alexandrovna and F.T.CH.Mallowdale Racketeer, born in 2000.He is a handsome, good conformation of a black Cocker dog. Roly is as good as gold, Edward says he really is what most people are looking for in a shooting companion, he is sound and reliable in all departments, a brilliant nose, good hunting action and great retriever. Although he has been trialled a couple of times, he is invaluable to Edward at work, hunting up for the training of the retrievers at Sealpin. He is endlessly patient with recalcitrant Labradors and Edwards’s right hand man. A very fine specimen and valued member of the team.
Roly produces all colours of offspring, with many different bitches and is in great demand at stud, being such an agreeable and undemanding cocker.
