Breeding Bitches at Sealpin

Puppies are sometimes available from all of these bitches, our clients find them easy to train and handle, being of such willing and able stock.

Chyknell Sula ("Sula")

Sula

Sula is a tiny chocolate bitch, with an impressive trial pedigree, very small, clever and knowing, always on the edge and looking for trouble. You need to be wide-awake for handling Sula! She came to Scotland from a top trialling breeder, as a pet, soon finding her way to Sealpin, as’ out of control’. She has taken careful handling to get her back on the straight and narrow and we have high hopes for this superbly bred bitch.

Tullymoran Maid ("Tully")

Tully is a fine, upstanding bitch, really nice looking with good features and a pleasing personality. She is out of one of our own Sealpin Bitches, Sealpin Madamelene, sired by the very sound working dog,Drumfarron Evening Mist.Tully is a strong ,extrovert bitch,a super retreiver, with a good mouth and excellent game finding abilities. She has a good fast action and ready compliance to instruction.

She will be a member of the demonstration team, on Gundog day at Crufts, this year (2001), newly re-scheduled for the last weekend in May.We also hope to breed her with Sealpin Ronde and would be looking for some excellent progeny, as they are both very effective gun-dogs. Her hip score is 3 and 3 and she has a clear eye certificate.

Sealpin Mexico ("Lettie")

Lettie is a pretty black cocker bitch out of F.T.CH. Miss Alexandrovna ,by F.T.CH. Sandford Black Mamba, so, a top-flight trial pedigree. An agreeable nature, like her Mother, very quick to learn, eager to please, with a great hunting action. She has not been trialled to date, due to other kennel commitments but has great future potential for the competition field.

Sealpin Amulet ("Tilly")

Tilly, born in July 2003, is a very fast daughter of Sealpin Fine Flow and Sealpin Ronde. She is of slighter build, very quick to learn and keen to work. She is a daughter of one of the last four bitches, we kept from Fyffe’s last litter with Digby, who now belongs to one of our clients in Nottinghamshire.Tilly has a very low hip score and clear eye certificate.

Figure of Eight ("Figgy")

Figure of Eight ("Figgy")

Figgy is a very attractive and effervescent blue roan cocker bitch. Bought in 2002, initially to be bred with Sealpin Rolex (a son of Miss Alexandrovna) She is the most joyful and openhearted little bitch, anyone could wish for. When, as a puppy she would get out, over, under ,or through anything to go and find Edward to do some work, we knew she had spirit!

Though fast and very efficient in all her work, she lacks that innate style that is the hallmark of a true top class Trialler.

Figgy was the ideal choice when the B.B.C. came looking for a gundog to accompany the M.P. for Liverpool, Mr Peter Kilfoyle, when he took part in the programme ‘My Week in the Real World’. In which he took the part of a Shoot Manager for a week in the Scottish Borders. Mr Kilfoyle had to be shown how to handle a gundog, before the cameras could roll, here at Lanton Hill. During the week away filming, Figgy stole the hearts of both stars and production crew alike, staying at a grand Hotel with them all.

Figgy has had her first litter with Sealpin Rolex, just a few months old and we are training on three of them this spring of 2005.Figgy is also an eye-catching and reliable member of the Demonstration Team.

Sealpin Wandasphinx ("Lola")

Lola, a daughter of the first litter of Wanda of Wexford and Sealpin Enigma, is a good-looking, classic type of Labrador bitch. She has a nice head and good conformation, with excellent hips and clear eye certificate. She is a very able bitch, fast and stylish, much in the mode of her Mother Wanda, who is now retired. Lola is a very quiet and responsive bitch, with a brilliant nose and lovely kind delivery of her retrieves. We hope to be breeding Lola this year.

Sealpin Honesty ("Wanda 2")

Sealpin Honesty ("Wanda 2")

Wanda2 is another daughter of Wanda and Digby, a year later. Very similar in looks and nature to her older sister Lola and fast becoming a very useful member of the team.

Her hips and eyes are also excellent.Wanda2 is currently in pup to our Sealpin Claus, the extrovert young dog and we are looking forward to seeing what they produce, as of early March 05.Quite closely line bred, with a couple of out-crosses.

Retired, Exported etc.

Lottie of Whistlers Mill ("Belle") - Exported to America

Belle,is a ftne athletic large bitch.by our F.T.CH. Willowbay Sandpiper. She is fearless
in cover and will leap a fivebar gate for the fun of it. She is a very attractive rnover for
a big bitch, with a grand low action, a brilliant nose and very kind nature. We were
unlucky not to have had any puppies with her last autumn, she just did not
produce. Edward hopes to be trialling her along with Beazor this season. She is lovely
looking, with a good coat and deameanor.

Wanda of Wexford ("Wanda") - Now Retired

Wander is out of one of sealpins own bitches by Smaghill Sabre of Leadburn. She is a very keen an excellent all-rounder Edward says she should be trialled really, to do her justice but he only trials with his spaniels and she is a key member of the picking up team. She has been producing some super puppies by our Sealpin Enigma. She is a very fast and effective when the chips are down. Her Hip score is 2 and 0 and she has a clear eye certificate.

Field Trial Winner Miss Alexandrovna ("Flex") - Now Retired

Miss Alexandrovna ("Flex")

Flex, the red cocker bitch, bred by Sir Alexander Reid in July 1997.Having chosen the sire for this litter, Sealpin acquired four of the puppies, all red, like their parents. Two of them, subsequently became great shooting companions, one a beloved family pet and walking companion and Flex herself going on to a superb trialling career, giving Edward a huge amount of pleasure along the way.

She won her first Novice Trial in August 1999 and became a Champion in October 2003. Out of 28 trials run, she has a 70% record of being in the first four places, all the rest being Certificates of Merit. A very reliable and consistent bitch.

Flex has the sweetest nature, always eager to please, with a very stylish action. While she became pretty hot, with her extensive trialling, she never actually let Edward down. She has produced four litters, among them good shooting dogs and a winner of the Swedish Cocker Championships. Edward has retired her from competition and she will not be bred form again. She continues to give him great pleasure for shooting over and is an integral part of the numerous demonstrations Sealpin gives, up and down the country.

Sealpin Messalina ("Linnet") - Now Retired

Linnet is the most classic looking bitch in the kennels and no one can get past her door with out comment. She is of the ‘old fashioned’ labrador type, with a lovely head and stocky build. She is of a quiet nature,as you see, where as Tully shows off for the camera Linnet hates it and wants to get on with the real work. She is an excellent sound worker, with a good nose and game sense, her lovely disposition making her an ideal type for a shooting companion. We shall be taking puppies from her in due course,as a great many of our clients are looking for just the type she epitomises. Her hip score is 5 and 4 and she has a clear eye certificate.
